On July 18, 2024, the new edition of “Italian Beauty Day” was held in Mexico City: a highly successful event organized by the Italian Trade Agency, the Italian Governmental Agency that supports the business development of Italian companies abroad; in collaboration with Cosmetica Italia, The Personal Care Association, representing the Italian cosmetics industry operating in both manufacturing and distribution and Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna. The event's protagonists were the excellence of Made in Italy beauty and the potential of the Mexican market.
Mexico is a country that, thanks to its continuous socio-economic development, represents a unique opportunity for the growth of Italian companies, encouraging deep internationalization. Many companies decide to export the uniqueness and beauty of Made in Italy making it an important growth factor.
According to the Annual Report published in June 2024 by Cosmetica Italia, the weight of exports on the total turnover of the cosmetics industry in Italy has in fact doubled in 20 years, rising from 23% in 2003 to over 46% in 2023.
Thus, the collaboration and synergy between ITA and BolognaFiere Cosmoprof brought together Italian companies and new international business opportunities, showing how Mexico is now a strategic partner.
Therefore, Mexico is among the top 20 destinations for Italian exports, with a value of more than €81 million in 2023, up 52.2% from 2022. In particular, skincare and make-up products showed strong growth (51.4% and 75.2%).
During the event, companies could set up a corner dedicated to promoting their offerings, showing a selection of their products distributed in the Mexican market.
Italian Beauty Day, thanks to the presence of Cosmoprof, becomes a witness of new relationships with main Mexican players, fostering meaningful and valuable partnerships and establishing new contacts and profitable business relationships between Italian companies and local operators.
