Cosmoprof and Cosmopack Awards recognise the products, formulations, packaging, design, technology, materials and ingredients and sustainability of the cosmetics industry, celebrating innovation and excellence worldwide. The 17 award-winning products represent the different souls of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, the only event that brings together all sectors of the cosmetics industry.
This edition's winning products express the know-how of more than 30 leading figures in the cosmetics industry worldwide. From over 700 entries submitted by exhibitors, a technical jury screened the entries for the first time, analysed their value in innovation, circularity and market appeal, and selected 51 finalists on 29 February. For the selection of the winners, the technical jury was joined by a multi-disciplinary jury, which expressed its preferences online, from 6 to 15 March, and on-site, with an unprecedented event on Wednesday, 20 March.
During the gala evening, presented by Livio Beshir, actor, presenter and TV author, the LIFE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD was also presented, the recognition that Cosmoprof awards to professionals and entrepreneurs who have distinguished themselves through talent and tenacity, making an essential contribution to the evolution of the cosmetics industry. For the 2024 edition, the award was presented to Trevor Sorbie, an icon of world hairstyling, starring on the world's main catwalks.
The winners were presented with the Fluere trophy, exclusively designed by the Milan School of Design students of Istituto Marangoni. The 3D-printed trophy represents the essence of movement and fluidity. The soft, fluid shape is intended to create the image of a used cosmetic bottle, conveying both the concept of the product experience and its life cycle. At the heart of the Fluere trophy is the idea that beauty is not just superficial but results from a healthy mind, body and soul. This award encourages brands to create products that promote wellness and self-care and help people feel beautiful inside and out. The trophy is carefully crafted to represent the spirit of excellence and innovation: a design object with a strong identity, just as strong as the identity and recognisability of the winning products of the 2024 edition.
Thanks to the partnership established on the occasion of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2024, the evening's entertainment was provided by MTV Italia, which brought two special guests to the Cosmoprof Grand Soiree: Pierpaolo Pretelli and Giulia Salemi, the faces of the MTV Italia programme schedule. During the event, Giulia took the stage for a more than special greeting and Pierpaolo, as a DJ, got all the guests dancing.
The evening was attended by top industry players from around the world: distributors, brand owners, buyers from the world's leading chains, journalists from leading international publications, and content creators. The invitation-only event was an extraordinary networking opportunity for participants, a unique moment to make new contacts, create new synergies, and lay the foundations for future collaborations.
The Cosmoprof & Cosmopack Awards contest has been a characteristic feature of the Cosmoprof platform's international events for years. To share with visitors to Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna what the award-winning features are in the main global markets, for the first time, the winners of the 2023 Awards for Cosmoprof North America – Las Vegas, Cosmoprof Asia in Hong Kong, and Cosmoprof India in Mumbai are showcased in the Service Centre.
